Cooking services

“Cooking is when things taste like what they are.” — Curnonsky

I believe that good hospitality is as much about attention to detail and quality ingredients as it is about creating a welcoming, convivial environment where people can relax and be themselves. As such, I’m an assured, relaxing presence in the kitchen, making sure your event runs smoothly and most importantly – that people have a wonderful, memorable time.

My cooking and catering services include:

Birthdays and celebrations

Dinner and canapé parties

Home-cooked deliveries for family occasions and freezer-filling

Holiday cooking

Retreats and corporate events

Hen parties and stag dos

Shooting parties

How does it work?

Cooking in peoples homes for dinner parties and celebrations is the most popular service I offer. I can do this a few different ways:

The ‘Can you do all of it?’ option

From £100 per person for four courses, based on 8 people.

This option is ideal if you’d prefer to enjoy your celebration without the hassle. I’ll design a menu based on what you fancy (I can even create a personalised hand-drawn menu for you) and arrive in good time to prepare for you and your guests. Previous clients have loved being able to enjoy an evening at home with friends and loved ones without worrying about driving or doing the dishes. For groups of over 8 people I bring my partner to help serve, plate up and ensure a more restaurant-like experience which is easygoing, convivial and special. We clear plates between courses and do all the washing up, leaving you with a sparkling clean kitchen at the end of the night. This is great for making a special celebration memorable and relaxed.

The ‘Finish at home’ option

From £50 per person for three courses, based on 8 people.

Prefer a simpler option but still want the ease of a delicious home-cooked meal at yours without spending hours at the stove? Then let me create a menu for you that’s suitable for dropping off at your place. It arrives all boxed up and ready for you to heat and serve yourselves. You get a comforting home-cooked feel rather than the plated presentation of a restaurant meal; it's a really nice option for family get-togethers, hen and stag dos or holidays in Norfolk and Suffolk. You can either drop the cookware back with me, or I can collect for a small fee. This option can be tailored for holidays or longer stays to meals suitable for freezing.

The 'Fill my fridge-freezer’ option

Bespoke pricing, starts at £400.

Let me stock your fridge and freezer with home-cooked meals that will last. I’ll design a menu with or for you, including a comforting line-up of pies, soups, stews, crumbles and cakes that will still taste great after a few weeks in the freezer. This option works well if you’re busy, knackered, have somewhat lost your passion for cooking or you’re otherwise unable to think about what to eat. Also great if you have holiday home in Suffolk or Norfolk and want to eat well without the planning. I have a busy client who drives up from London and there is always something good to eat waiting in the freezer.

The ‘Big Fun Party Cake’ option

Starts at £150.

You don’t believe it’s a proper celebration without a big fun party cake. I couldn’t agree more. As a lover of meringues, fresh fruit and classic sponge I love to make a fun, showy cake or tumbling dessert that doesn’t take itself too seriously for ringing in a big birthday or celebration in the proper fashion. I’ll deliver for a small fee or you can collect in Norwich.

Happy to discuss tailoring any of these options to suit your needs – just drop me a line.

What People Are Saying

“Henry Anderson-Brown’s modern European cooking is relaxed, generous and homely. It’s the sort of food you might expect to find being dished up on chipped plates in a rural French house by a rosy-cheeked mother. It’s honest, unpretentious and exactly the food I like to eat.”

The Bristol Post

“Henry has a strong inquisitive mind which keeps him interested and engaged with food and cooking, ingredients, the seasons, and how dishes and cooking can be learned and executed beautifully.”

— Jeremy Lee, Chef-Patron at Quo Vadis and Author

“Henry was fantastic from initial booking, through menu design and on the day. His food was original and delicious –and his service and manner was amazing, making sure everyone was at ease and enjoying themselves. Thank you so much for cooking for my friend’s hen do, Henry. Your cooking really was exceptional. I'm so grateful!” [Summer 2021]

“Henry and Nicola listened to our ideas and created something better than we could have dreamed of. A delicious, sophisticated and seasonal feast which did what all good food does: brings people together. Simply put, wedding food has no right to be that good! Together with their team, they were a pleasure to work with and did everything with a smile on their faces in tough circumstances. We could not be more happy with what they delivered for us.” [Summer 2022]

— Paddy and Molly
